Day 2 Arusha National Park

After breakfast depart to Arusha National Park for game viewing. Arusha National Park is 137 square Kilometers and was established in 1960 and has three distinct zones that contribute to the park’s variety and beauty; Ngurdoto Crater, the Momela Lakes, and Mount Meru. The vegetation and wildlife found in the park are determined by the altitude and geography of the different areas. You will have an option of walking in the park (not included in our price). You will return to your lodge for lunch and afternoon you will relax in the garden.

Dinner & Overnight at Hotel/ Lodge/ Camp.

Day 3 & 4 West Kilimanjaro

Have breakfast at the lodge before departure to the West Kilimanjaro area. Kambi ya Tembo Camp, formerly Sinya Camp, is on a private concession located near the border of Kenya near Amboseli National Park. The area offers spectacular views of snow covered Mt. Kilimanjaro. This is one of the few places in Tanzania that you will be able to experience night drives and walking safaris – escorted by Maasai warriors. The area has one of the biggest bull elephant populations in all of Africa. The elephants here have been studied for years by scientist Cynthia Moss. Enjoy game viewing activities in open vehicles, cross cultural interactions with a visit to a Maasai Boma and walking safaris. There is also the option for a night game drive.

Dinner & Overnight at Hotel/ Lodge/ Camp.

Day 5 Tarangire National Park

After breakfast drive to Tarangire National Park with packed lunch. This is the classic Africa of lore with shimmering acacia stands, old baobab trees, Masai herds and herds of elephant. Afternoon game viewing in Tarangire National Park, you will drive to the beautiful Tarangire Treetops lodge just before dusk. Tarangire Treetops has 20 treehouses all of which are elevated above the ground affording views over the tops of surrounding marula and baobab trees.

Day 6 Tarangire National Park

After breakfast depart for full day game viewing in Tarangire with picnic lunch. This is the classic Africa of lore with shimmering acacia stands, old baobab trees, and herds of elephant. In the dry-season of July-October, Tarangire National Park surpasses the Serengeti in terms of animal concentration as big herds begin to congregate around the permanent water of the Tarangire River. It is not uncommon to see herds of 50+ elephant as well as many other mammal species including the rare Kudu and Oryx. The park is also noted for its prolific bird life and the occasional sighting of cheetah and the rare African Hunting Dog.

Dinner & Overnight at Hotel/ Lodge/ Camp.

Day 7 Lake Manyara National Park

Depart for Lake Manyara after breakfast, traversing the Great African Rift Valley that scars Africa from the Red Sea to Mozambique, and arriving at Lake Manyara Tree Lodge for lunch. Afternoon you will relax at the lodge or do afternoon game viewing.

Dinner & Overnight at Hotel/ Lodge/ Camp.

Day 8 Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast you will another day game drive in Lake Manyara National Park. Lake Manyara National Park was immortalised in Hemingway’s “Green Hills Of Africa” and represents a habitat distinct from elsewhere in our safari. Game drive allows us to explore the ground-water forest, rich in birds and monkeys, visit the hippo pool, and the acacia woodlands that border the soda lake swathed in the pink of the resident flamingos.

Dinner & Overnight at Hotel/ Lodge/ Camp.

Day 9 Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast depart for Ngorongoro crossing through the Mto wa Mbu Escarpment as we carve our way through the forested slopes of the Ngorongoro Highlands and arrive at Ngorongoro Crater Lodge in time for lunch. Afternoon you will descend into the Crater floor for an afternoon game viewing.

Dinner & Overnight at Hotel/ Lodge/ Camp.

Day 10 Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast depart into the crater game for game viewing, with picnic lunch, gives us time to explore in detail this fascinating wildlife amphitheatre. We then descend down the 2000-ft walls of the Crater, a World Heritage Site and home to nearly 25,000 animals, for a game drive. Here you have a very real chance of spotting the big five: lion, elephant, endangered black rhino, buffalo and leopard plus countless other African mammal species. This caldera, formed by a volcano sinking, hosts a unique cross-section of eco-systems, from soda lake to savannah and is home to almost every major species of African mammal. Our presence does not threaten the wildlife making for an exhilarating proximity to the game that we rarely encounter elsewhere.

Dinner & Overnight at Hotel/ Lodge/ Camp.

Day 11 Serengeti National Park

After breakfast depart for Serengeti with packed lunch, stop at Olduvai Gorge to visit the site where Mary and Louis Leakey first discovered the remains of Zinjanthropus Bosei, a distant ancestor of man believed to be 1.8 million years old, Australopithecus Bosei, the ‘Nutcracker Man’, a species that became extinct about 1 million years ago and fossilized foot prints that date back 3.6 million years. From here the predator-rich plains of the Serengeti unfurl before you, as you game drive through the park for the remainder of the day en route to the Sasakwa Lodge in Serengeti.

Dinner & Overnight at Hotel/ Lodge/ Camp.

Day 12 & 13 Serengeti National Park

You will have another two full day to explore the Serengeti, the most famous National Park in Africa. Our driver-guide will choose our route based on his extensive knowledge of the park and local conditions but the Serengeti rarely disappoints. We carry our packed lunch with us so as to make the most of the day, but our trip might include tracking cheetah, hunting leopard along the Seronera River, avoiding the crocs and hippos at Retima or exploring the Masai paintings at Moru Kopjes.
